Waste levies have pushed the cost of dumping material up, and skip bin hire prices in Cairns have risen with them. Most of what drives your price is within your control.
1. Separate your waste
The biggest lever by far. Mixed grades of waste are processed at the more expensive rate, so putting everything in one bin is usually the most expensive way to do it.
2. Get the size right the first time
A second delivery always costs more than the next size up would have. Our bins run from 2m³ to 15m³, though the 8m³, 9m³ and 15m³ are limited supply on 1 to 7 day hire.
3. Respect the weight allowance
Excess weight is charged at $90 per tonne including GST for green waste, $330 per tonne for building waste and $395 per tonne for general and household waste. On building and general waste the excess is only charged up to a capped rate.
4. Fill it properly
Break down bulky items, stack rather than throw, and use the walk-in door to get large items flat on the floor of the bin.
5. Book with notice, and set up an account
Give us at least 24 hours where you can. If you hire regularly, we offer accounts and statements.
